Financial Aid

Financial Aid

What you need to know

With total four year costs for some private colleges approaching $300,000, most parents worry about how they will pay for college. However, fewer than half of all students and their families will have to pay the full "sticker price". In fact, the average award for students amounts to 53% of total costs. If you do not qualify for "need-based" aid (according to the federal formula) there are funds available for academic achievement, athletic ability, and specific talents or backgrounds.

Right College for Me, LLC can help you find and position yourself for these scholarships. We can also help you determine which colleges provide the best return on investment by considering factors such as a college's success in propelling students to great graduate schools and rewarding careers.

Academic/Merit Scholarships

Last year, $9.5 billion in scholarships were awarded to deserving students, and you do not need straight A's and perfect SAT scores to qualify. Almost all of the colleges ranked in the top 500 (top 10%) by Forbes magazine offer merit scholarships. Colleges ranked between #30 and #500 are motivated to further improve their standing and will often make attractive offers to students with good grades and/or combined SAT scores exceeding 1800. At Right College for Me, LLC, we know which colleges are most likely to make you these offers.

Athletic Scholarships

Athletes received $1 billion in scholarships last year, divided equally by gender, for every conceivable sport. Right College for Me, LLC can help you carefully evaluate institutions that may make you offers to determine which colleges will provide the most valuable experience and education.

Talent Scholarships

Many colleges provide scholarships to students with special talent for music, dance, theatre, art, photography and more. Right College for Me, LLC, can help you identify these colleges and their requirements.

Need-based Scholarships

Most of the colleges ranked by Forbes or U.S. News & World Report are reluctant to reject students simply because of their inability to pay and will offer a financial aid package to make attendance possible. Among the very top schools, there are some that require no loans and will provide a grant covering all costs.
